"It has been a real pleasure to have Jack work on my website. He is incredibly knowledgeable, informative and generous with his time and information. He always responds quickly to my messages and questions and he is easy and fun to work with." - Marina McDonald, owner of Movements of Love, Ashland, Oregon

"Jack totally revamped out our website -The Welcome Home Project - in a very timely and professional way. The results are fantastic, the interactive site very easy to use and edit, and working with him was both enjoyable and efficient. I would recommend him to anyone looking for help in designing a page, learning how to manage it, or understanding the possibilities for web based promotion. On top of that, his fees were beyond reasonable." - Bill McMillan

Frequently Asked Questions

I've seen some other designers advertise that their service includes a content management system, what is different about what you offer?

There is a big difference. Most content management systems only allow you to change the content. This means that if you want to change the design, you still have to rely on web designers, which means more money out of your pocket. The platform that I use is much more than just content management. You can alter any aspect of the design. You become the content manager and you become the web designer. You can tinker with your site look all you want from any computer with internet access.

Do I have to pay for a web host?

Yes, just like with any website, your website needs to live somewhere, and rent needs to be paid. The good news is, for $14 per month, not only do you get a host for your site, you also get a powerful web design and content management system that you control.

What if I have no written descriptions for my site, and I don’t want to write any?

Don’t worry about it. Not everyone is a writer, and that’s OK. I am sure there are plenty of other things you are good at. For an additional $95, I will collaborate with you and write your content.

What if I don’t have a logo for my company or organization?

That’s no problem. For $95, I’ll create one for you.

What if, after you give me a tutorial, I get stuck trying to update my site and can’t figure out how to do something?

Rest assured, I don’t simply abandon my clients once I’ve shown them the system. I am available for phone and email consultation for two months after your site goes live. That means you can call or email me if you have a question (email is preferred, however sometimes it is necessary to talk on the phone). We can even login at the same time and I can walk you through steps.

I have heard social networking and web 2.0 mentioned a lot recently. Should I be concerned about getting involved with the social networking world?

It all depends on what you do. Certain social networking tools may be invaluable to some, and not very useful to others. For example, a social networking tool like Twitter may prove to be a great asset for a musician, who wants to let his or her fans know when and where the next concert is, or when the next CD will be released.

I offer two social networking strategy consultation, with services that include some of the following:

Twitter: I will create a page for you, based on the design of your website, and give you a tutorial on what Twitter is and how to use it. ($50)

Your Own Social Network: I create you your very own social network, based on the design of your website, and teach you how to manage it ($150). There is no monthly cost for your social network. Once it's created, it's free. This is not the same as having a profile page in Myspace or Facebook. The difference is, you own the entire social network, and other people can create pages and groups within it. You have total control over who joins the network and how the network is laid out. You can have a link from your website to your social network.

Having your own social network allows your customers, or the members of your group organization, to represent themselves with their own page and form an online community around what ever it is you do. This gives people the opportunity to actively participate in your business or organization, and it can serve as a way to stay connected to them.
